A framed, mid 20th century, oil on canvas, self portrait by Arthur Ralph Middleton Todd RA RE (1891-1966)
An extremely well executed, beautiful, rich and warm (believed to be self portrait painting. Please see images including a photograph of Middleton Todd) of superb quality. Signed by the artist and dated 1951.

Arthur Ralph Middleton Todd was born in Cornwall and trained under Stanhope Forbes in Newlyn. He attended the Central School of Art and the Slade School of Fine art.
Known mainly for his portraits he also held a number of teaching positions, Royal Academy Schools 1946-49. Leicester School of Art 1936-39. Regent Street Polytechnic 1939 and his last teaching post at the City and Guilds of London Art School in Kensington 1950-56.
